Map and Statistics of Río Negro
Río Negro is a significant river in South America, primarily flowing through Brazil. It originates in Colombia and Venezuela, making its way southeastward through the Amazon rainforest. As one of the Amazon River's major tributaries, it is notable for its darkly stained waters, a result of decomposed vegetation. The river converges with the Solimões River at the city of Manaus, forming the Amazon River proper. Its rich biodiversity supports numerous ecosystems and indigenous communities along its banks.
